A fun and relaxed environment to come and be creative. The classes are suitable for all levels from total beginners to those with more experience.
The classes for adults run in 6 week blocks and are predominantly hand building (unless you have prior experience of throwing or have completed private throwing tuition with us).
All of our classes run for 2.5hrs. Classes are generally mixed ability but are always suitable for complete beginners. Every course will have a project to inspire different ways of making and will cover a range of different techniques. You will learn how to make ceramics using hand building techniques and how to finish the forms you produce to a high standard before moving on to decoration techniques to finish the pieces. Once you have completed a 6 week course you may continue to follow projects or use the time do develop your own ideas, with a tutor on hand to guide you.
A six week block costs £120, which includes all materials and firings. We offer two types of clay a specked buff stoneware and a white stoneware clay and a wide range of slips, oxides, underglazes and dipping glazes.
Some of our previous projects include making: birdfeeders, lanterns, Korean moon jars, jugs, tealight holders, raku and smoke firing, mocha diffusion and outdoor sculptures. Please see our gallery to see the wide range of ceramics produced in our classes.
